The Quinn Clan

Lets start with I absolutely love doing portraits at the Broadmoor here in Colorado Springs.  My Uncle helps run a conference for mining engineers there each April and asked if I would come do some portraits of his family.  The whole family is only together a few times out of the year so it was a great opportunity for them to do these photographs.  Not to mention the little ones grow so fast, you have to get some pictures when they're little so you can see them grow.

What I loved about the Broadmoor is there are so many little places that you can set up as a background for a different feel within a very, very short walk.  The gardens are beautiful and the interiors unique.  We choose to stick with the gardens since I had the beautiful evening light starting.  I used an off camera fill to bring up the contrast ratio as I used the sun as a back light so there would be less chance of everyone squinting.  Really pretty simple set up.  I like lens flare but I found it harder to control at the angles I was working with, something that could be helped with a lens hood probably.  Either way I can't wait to do some senior portraits down in the gardens there.  I think they would be really classy and elegant like this set of portraits.  Enjoy!

Resist Saying Aww...I Dare You

This blog post has been long overdue.  I did my little cousin's 15-month pictures and could not be happier with them.  She's so cute.  Although I did learn that you do NOT try and get a 15-month old to sit still.  You go with it.  Lots of following and funny noises!  Enjoy and I dare you not to say Aww.

But before all the super-cuteness a fun announcement my cousin's made.  The idea was hers (colors, layout, etc) I just brought it to fruition:

And now the cuteness that is Aisling:

And just as a last note...I'm pretty sure Aisling is excited that the Avs won their first playoff game!

Coming Soon...

I've been shooting like crazy lately so expect some new blog posts soon!  Also look forward to the launch of my on going Master's project soon!  It's really coming together.
