It's almost a year later and I still am mind blown by how much I learned from the first wedding I ever photographed. Ellie and Aaron really are an amazing couple and allowed me the honor of photographing their wedding in Grand Lake last summer. Okay now I'm sure everyone is thinking how beautiful Grand Lake is (and it is, don't get me wrong) but even after doing staff photography, this church is still one of the most challenging locations I've ever photographed. Several things made these photos challenging including but not limited to having 3 types of lighting inside, portraits right around noon, a GIANT (and I mean giant) window behind the alter, and to top it off I wasn't allowed to use flash in the church a per the paster's instructions. So what does this mean? It means that I should have been more confident with on camera fill-flash outside, I had to come up with more creative ways to shoot inside, and after HOURS of color correction black and white is still my best friend. So here are some of the results from the day.
